To help us protect your information, the Website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL technology is the industry standard for secure online transactions and we will use this technology, or other commercially acceptable technology to help us secure your personal information.
To determine if SSL is active, look at the bottom status bar of your browser window. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser) the SSL is active. If you are concerned about the protection of your personal information, you must ensure that SSL is active each time you visit the Website. However, keep in mind that some versions of browsers and some firewalls (local network security) don't permit communication even though the server is secure. If that is the case with your system, and you decide to continue using this Website, you understand that you are proceeding without your personal information being secure at your own risk and you agree to be responsible for such.
Notwithstanding our efforts to secure your information, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access your information, and other Website users may abuse or misuse information made available to them. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that your personal information is completely secure and private.

The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. If a user elects to use our BuyOnIt.com referral service for informing a friend about the Website, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. They include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the website, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
